An ICF basement is more comfortable.

ICF’s are insulated walls that include a built-in moisture and air barrier. It is strong because it is “wet cured” concrete sandwiched between two layers of insulating foam. This means that ICF foundations tend to be warmer and dryer than traditional foundations.

ICF walls dramatically reduce drafts and “cold spots” compared to conventional basements. The two layers of foam insulation will also eliminate humidity problems in most basements. The “thermal mass” of the concrete core stabilizes the temperature in your basement so that you get even comfort, all year round. You get more warm and comfortable living space from the very first day your home is built.
